Aquatic Instruments Vol. 1 is a curated collection of instruments, effects, and loops shaped by water, air, and circuitry. Designed to sit between the digital and the organic, the pack draws inspiration from late-1980s and early-1990s Japanese ambient and new age recordings, where synthesis, space, and environment were treated as compositional elements. At its core is the Yamaha SY77, whose hybrid FM and sample-based architecture informed much of the pack’s tonal character, reinterpreted through modern Ableton Live instruments and subtle analog processing.

Rather than recreating the past, Aquatic Instruments Vol. 1 extends its signal forward. Glassy FM tones, softened pads, evolving textures, and fluid rhythmic loops are paired with performance-ready effects inspired by early digital reverbs, choruses, and tape-based systems. The result is a tactile, atmospheric palette designed for ambient, experimental electronic, and understated pop compositions; sounds that reveal themselves gradually, inviting repetition, drift, and personal context.

System Requirements

• Ableton Live 11 or newer (Standard or Suite)

• macOS or Windows

• No third-party plugins required

• Instruments and effects use Ableton’s native devices only

• Samples and loops are compatible with any DAW or sampler

Installation & Use

1. Download and unzip the Aquatic Instruments Vol. 1 folder

2. Open Ableton Live

3. In the Browser, scroll to Places and click Add Folder

4. Select the Aquatic Instruments Vol. 1 folder and confirm

5. The pack will now appear permanently in your Ableton Browser

6. Drag any instrument or effect rack (.adg) onto a MIDI or Audio track

7. If samples appear missing, keep the Samples folder in the same directory and use

   File → Manage Files → Locate Missing Files if needed
